I am Kalyx Aikin,
Miss East Texas' Teen.
I earned the title of Miss East Texas' Teen on January 21, 2023. I am so excited to represent the East Texas area and the Miss Mount Pleasant Scholarship Organization over the next year as I give back to my community with every opportunity that arises and as I compete for the title of Miss Texas' Teen in Richardson in June-July of 2023! Within the East Texas area, I spread my time across many different causes to set an example of all the areas in which someone might focus their attention when The What If Project curriculum is put to use. The possibilities are endless.
I have volunteered with veterans, boy scouts, those with special needs, community events such as National Night Out, my local Volunteer Fire Department, our local mission/soup kitchen, and many other organizations within my community. I try to give back whenever and wherever there is a need.

Competing within the Miss Texas Organization has expanded the reach of Stronger Than the Silence and continues to do so daily. Some may see this as a luxury, but I began competing so that I could share my story - because I have a voice that needs to be heard.
​
My personal sponsors may elect how they'd like their contributions to be used. Some choose to specify the use of their contributions for my Miss Texas' Teen expenses, for use by The What If Project, for use by Stronger Than the Silence, to split it between those, or to allow me to use the contribution where it is most needed at the time. In-kind sponsorships are also welcome and appreciated!
